The Woman in the ‘Family of Man’ Family
One of my favorite and most influential photo books is
The Family of Man
. The Family of Man was a photography exhibition curated by Edward Steichen first shown in 1955 at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and later turned into a book. I just learned on Wikipedia that the book has sold more than 4 million copies. A true testament to the power of straight photography of the human experience.
